Yoga for a cause
As the sun shined on the tiny bay of Gig Harbor in Washington, yoga instructor Pamella Inveen led 30 compassionate people through two hours of yoga postures to raise awareness for the ONE Campaign and Plan. In just two hours, the participants raised awareness in their community and $1,475.00 — half of which they donated to Hurricane Katrina Relief.

In the words of Pamella, “We realized through our Yogathon that by just giving a little time and a few dollars, we could make a difference to a child somewhere in the world.”

Pool party for ONE
Some children really know how to party for a cause! One 10-year-old boy asked guests at his birthday party to donate to children suffering from AIDS in Africa instead of giving him gifts. Read more…

Kids helping kids
“Workin’ at the car wash…” A group of students in South Carolina spend a fun-filled day washing cars so that their peers in Guinea can have better educational opportunities. These creative and bright students raised $410.00 for the Schoolbooks project which is enough money to purchase books for 38 children in Guinea.

Musical talent and sponsor creativity
Plan USA child sponsor Deborah Held is an attorney who is currently focusing her time on her artistic background — painting and classical singing.

For the second year in a row, Deborah organized "A Musicale in the Ballroom" and put that artistic talent to work for Plan USA. The March 21st event raised a phenomenal $15,000 for communities in Africa affected by HIV/AIDS.
