Commitment to accountability and ethical practices and adherence to strong and comprehensive standards are central to everything we do. Recognized as one of the lead non-governmental organizations in the U.S. setting higher standards of accountability, Plan International USA believes in trust, transparency and responsibility.

Better Business Bureau
Meets all Standards for Charity Accountability
All BBB accredited businesses and charities agree to live up to BBB's Standards for Trust, which are a comprehensive set of policies, procedures and best practices focused on how businesses and charities should treat the public – fairly and honestly in all circumstances. Every two years, Plan International USA is voluntarily re-evaluated by BBB on 20 different measures. We have earned the use of the Better Business Bureau "Wise Giving Alliance" seal, which signifies that we meet all of BBB's Standards of Charity Accountability.
Charity Navigator
Current Rating for Plan International USA: 4 Stars
Charity Navigator is the largest evaluator of charities in the U.S., currently evaluating the financial health of over 5,500 of America's best known charities. Charity Navigator's rating system currently examines two areas of a charity's financial health – how responsibly it functions day to day as well as how well positioned it is to sustain its programs over time. Each charity is awarded an overall rating, ranging from zero to four stars.
InterAction
Meets all Standards for Membership
Plan International USA is a member of InterAction, the largest alliance of U.S.-based international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) focused on the world’s poor and most vulnerable people. As a member of this alliance, Plan is required to meet a set of standards covering private voluntary organization (PVO) governance, financial reporting, fundraising, public relations, management practice, human resources and program services.
