Youth Engagement
The Youth Engagement and Action Team at Plan International USA works in the United States to involve students and youth, as well as teachers and adult allies, in taking action on global issues.
We offer two major programs: Youth United for Global Action and Awareness (YUGA) for students and School-2-School Linking (S2S) for teachers and adults.
No matter whether you are a student or a teacher, a teenager or an adult, you can join us in tackling the world's toughest issues. Check out our YUGA Leadership Summit, happening in summer 2013, and find out how you can get involved in our latest youth campaigns!

Mission
The Youth Engagement and Action team believes that young people have the power to change the world. Our mission is to build a youth-led grassroots movement that creates a world where all people live in just and sustainable societies.
History
Plan’s youth engagement began after the Global Connections Youth Conference in 2004. At the conference, students from the northeast United States came together with young people from 30 different developing countries. The experience was so powerful that the teens wanted to stay involved in Plan’s work after the conference, and so they founded the first chapter of Youth United for Global Action and Awareness (YUGA), now a flagship youth program at Plan.
