Face-to-Face at Plan

Why Face-to-Face?
Most charities will use multiple methods of fundraising to make up an overall strategy . . . Plan is no different. At the US Office we use:
- Appeals
- Telemarketing
- Internet and emails
- Face-to-Face
- Media (TV commercials / radio)
- Corporate support
- Grant funding
All of these are important, as they appeal to different demographics and have an additional benefit of promoting Plan to a wider audience.
Face-to-face is effective because we can speak to more people, face to face, rather than relying on an advertisement or letter to prompt a response. We can answer questions as they arise, and help the public to understand the need and urgency of their support.
All fundraising methods cost money; regardless of their medium. The difference with face-to-face is that the cost is relative to the amount of support we get. With other methods of fundraising the expenses are generally fixed. In that sense, face-to-face is a responsible and highly effective method for Plan to invest in.
