Street Fundraising Teams
Plan International USA actively solicits financial donations through our Face-to-Face fundraising program in several cities throughout the United States. You may encounter Plan’s Face-to-Face fundraisers on busy streets, in urban neighborhoods, and at your local mall.
When fundraising on the street, team members work within eye distance of one another. Team members will approach the public to discuss Plan programs and services and request monthly, recurring donations by credit or debit card. Team Members use paper enrollment forms to collect donor information and process the donations. Your contribution will not process immediately, but should process within 7-10 business days.
What to Expect
If you sign up as a monthly donor with a Plan Face-to-Face fundraiser, you will be asked to provide personal information and credit card details to allow for automatic monthly donations. Face-to-Face is effective because we can speak to more people, rather than relying on an advertisement or letter to prompt a response to donate to the organization. We can answer questions as they arise and help the public to understand the need and urgency of their support.
All fundraising methods cost money; regardless of their medium. Face-to-Face costs are relative to the amount of support that we receive. With other methods of fundraising the expenses are generally fixed. In that sense, Face-to-Face is a responsible and highly effective method for Plan to invest in.

Many charities use multiple methods of fundraising to make up an overall strategy . . . Plan is no different. At our U.S. Office, we raise funds through the following methods:
- Direct Mail
- Telephone Solicitation Marketing
- Internet and Emails
- Media (Direct Response TV and Radio)
- Corporate Support, and
- Grant Funding
How to Identify a Fundraiser from Plan International USA
Fundraisers that are working on behalf of Plan are noncommissioned fundraisers. They can be identified by:
- A pink vest (see picture) with the Plan logo prominently displayed
- An ID card (carried on person) with their name, photograph, and contact information for both Plan and our fundraising partner
- The use of binder or clipboard containing Plan fact sheets and donation forms
Is My Information Confidential?
Yes, all financial data is confidential. Our fundraising partners and Plan are both compliant with Payment Card Industry (PCI) regulations for financial data security and meet industry regulations related to Face-to-Face fundraising.
