On the Road Again

Remember this past April when the Because I am a Girl team went down to Philadelphia to spread the word about gender equality? Well, we are at it again and this time we’re heading to Seattle, Washington!

Next week the team will be situated smack dab in the middle of Seattle Center at the three-day music and arts festival, Bumbershoot. You might be wondering what a music festival has to do with Because I am a Girl. Well, I’ll tell you: it is all about making friends. The goal is to meet and share our mission with as many people as possible so what better way to do that than to get on board with one of the most popular and well-attended festivals in the country?!

From September 1st through the 3rd the Because I am a Girl team will be joining our pink-vested fundraisers in and around Seattle Center. We will have two booths at Bumbershoot, so be sure to look for both! Our first location is at Fisher Plaza, 140 4th Ave N (between Denny Way & Broad St) Saturday and Sunday where we’ll be with our friends from Star 101.5 broadcasting live!

Of course, we’ll also be in the thick of the festivities for all three days so if you are attending Bumbershoot, come visit our second location! You'll be able to spot the bright pink Because I am a Girl tent over by the Seattle Repertory Theater.

So what can YOU do to get involved with Because I am a Girl at Bumbershoot? There are multiple ways to get involved and make an impact at both booths; we’ll have some fun photo-ops, giveaways and more information about ways you can help lift 4 million girls from poverty. Follow us on Twitter to see what we are up to each day and remember you can check out the team's adventures on Instagram! Find us there at @BcimaGIRL. We hope to see you in Seattle!
