Located within minutes of downtown Bristol, Roger Williams University will host YUGA's 2013 Leadership Summit.


This year, the YUGA Leadership Summit will be held at Roger Williams University (RWU), at the Main Campus in Bristol, Rhode Island. We’re happy to have secured a great facility in such a scenic location, and we hope that you are, too!

Roger Williams University (RWU) Main Campus sits on a sprawling 143 acres overlooking Mount Hope Bay. RWU is just minutes to downtown Bristol -- home to restaurants, ice cream shops, boutiques and antique shops, the East Bay Bike Path and Colt State Park. RWU is also just a 30-minute drive to both Newport (R.I.'s beach haven) and Providence (R.I.'s capital city), just 60 minutes to Boston, Mass., and about three hours to New York City.” (Quoted from the University website.) Housing

Participants in the YUGA Leadership Summit will stay in a single residence hall on RWU’s campus. They will have air-conditioned rooms and share communal lounge areas. The residence hall has keycard access. A team of RW employees manages the security of the hall’s residents 24/7, as well as the daily cleaning of the building.


Dining

Participants will eat three meals a day in RWU’s dining hall. The dining hall staff are able to cater to dietary restrictions and food allergies. About the food, RWU says: “Thanks to the variety, quality and locally sourced meals served up by our catering company, Bon Apetite, our dining ranks in the top 5% of the nation, according to student satisfaction surveys. It's just that good!”


Travel

Please arrange your travel so that you arrive on campus between 2 – 4pm on Monday, July 15, 2013 and leave between 12 – 1pm on Friday, July 19, 2013. (Details on where to park, what building to go to, and other logistics will be provided in packets mailed to participants.)


The Youth Engagement team will not provide transportation to/from the Summit for participants from outside of the New England area. If you are traveling to the Summit from outside New England, we will be providing a shuttle from T. F. Green Airport in Warwick, Rhode Island. A shuttle will also be provided for each of the following locations:

If you answer “yes” to the question on your application that asks about transportation assistance, then we will work with you to make sure you meet that shuttle.
