Cost + Financial Aid

The cost to attend the YUGA Leadership Summit is $550. This includes room and board at Roger Williams University, as well as all workshops and activities, from July 15 – July 19, 2013.

 

General Application Process
Financial Aid Application Process
  • May 1, 2013 - Online general application due.
  • May 15, 2013 - Applicants notified of their status. Applicants mail their payment ($550) to Plan's office in Rhode Island.
  • June 1, 2013 - All applicants have paid and payments have been received at Plan's office.
  • April 1, 2013 - Financial aid application due.
  • April 15, 2013 - Applicants notified of their status. Applicants mail their payment (if necessary) to Plan's office in Rhode Island.
  • June 1, 2013 - All applicants have paid and payments have been received at Plan's office.

 

Financial Aid

If you are applying for financial aid, we strongly suggest that you submit your general application at the same time. That way, when we are evaluating your financial aid application alongside other applicants’ applications, we will have more information about you and your interest in the YUGA Leadership Summit.


A request for financial aid will not affect your application. If you cannot attend the Summit unless you receive financial aid, please contact us before to submitting your application. Finally, we ask that you only request aid to cover the cost of our program that is too much for you or your family’s financial resources.

In order to be considered for financial aid, please send the following information to yuga@planusa.org:

  • Student’s Name (First, Last)
  • Student’s Email
  • Parent/Guardian Information: Name, Home Address, Email, Home/Mobile Phone
  • Amount of Assistance Requested
  • Number of Earners in Household
  • Actual 2012 Gross Household Income*
  • Estimated 2013 Gross Household Income**
  • Special Circumstances we should know about

*Actual Gross Household Income: This is the amount reported on the tax return of the parent(s) or guardian(s) of the student applicant, or your own for tax year 2011. Use either: the amount reported on line 37 of Form 1040 or the amount reported on line 21 of Form 1040A or the amount reported on line 4 of Form 1040EZ. If you request and are awarded financial assistance, you agree to supply us upon our request with the page of your tax return supporting the income reported here. Failure to supply us with documentation to support your request for financial assistance will result in a revocation of that assistance.

**Estimated Gross Household Income: This is the amount you expect to report on your 2012 tax return. We understand this is an estimate. We request this information to assess whether your request is based on anticipated changes to income. Describe any material change in the Special Circumstances section.
