Celebrate World Water Day!
World Water Day is dedicated to acknowledging the importance of clean water and the development and management of water resources.
Water, sanitation, and hygiene issues affect everyone in the community, but they have an even bigger impact on girls. Girls are often the ones responsible for fetching water, and girls do the cooking and cleaning, so they need water for their chores. When they go on long walks to fetch water alone, they are at risk of being attacked. And when a girl hits puberty, she needs access to a bathroom at school.
Girls all over the world are participating...and you can too! Check out our Walk4Wells page to find out how you can get involved.
