ExxonMobil has been a proud sponsor of the Global Women in Management: Advancing Women’s Economic Opportunities (GWIM) program for 10 years. This program strengthens women’s management, leadership and technical skills to enhance and bring to scale programs that advance women’s economic opportunities and build the next generation of women business leaders and entrepreneurs. The GWIM program brings together women from diverse countries to share, examine, and adapt best practices that advance women’s economic opportunities. ExxonMobil’s leading investment is truly paving the way to economic stability for thousands of women in developing countries.

ExxonMobil and Plan believe that programs preparing women for sustainable livelihoods increase economic potential at local and national levels. In Africa for instance, research shows that investing in women’s education and leadership can expand agricultural yields by more than 20 percent, and increases in female labor participation translate to tangible growth in a country’s real GDP.
