Girls in Ecuador Dare to Dream
Plan International Encourages Girls in Ecuador to Show Their Ambition
Girls in Ecuador are providing a strong message that girls have ambition and the potential to fulfil their dreams, but barriers stand in their way.
As part of an ongoing effort to show the Ecuadorian government that girls should be listened to and supported in the fight against gender inequality, Plan has worked with 1,200 girls since 2012 to implement the Girl’s Letters project.
Girls were asked to think about their futures and write a letter to the government listing the problems that prevented them from achieving their dreams. They were then asked to draw their dreams, visually showing what they wanted to achieve in life. Take a look at what they came up with.
