I’m excited to announce that the “Because I am a Girl” petition urging President Obama to help girls in developing nations was delivered with over 18,000 names directly to the White House!
Plan is committed to giving every child a voice and to raising the status of girls to be equal to that of boys. We're proud to have sent the message to the Obama administration that we're taking specific actions to empower girls and women!
Plan USA President/CEO Ahuma Adodoadji had the honor of announcing Plan's commitment to girls at the 2009 Clinton Global Initiative, where he also shared Plan's 2009 State of the World’s Girls report. This new report highlights the issues girls and young women face growing up in the current global economic climate and discusses how investing in them is the key to unlocking the potential of families, communities, and nations around the world.
With your support, we can continue to ensure the health, education, and well-being of girls and boys so that entire communities are strengthened and more able to lift themselves out of poverty.
The infinite potential of every girl and boy
