Bracey Deegan Named Interim President/CEO of Plan USA

Audrey Bracey Deegan has been named Interim President/CEO of Plan USA by its Board of Directors effective immediately. Ms. Deegan joins Plan USA following the resignation of W. Ahuma Adodoadji, who has been President/CEO of the organization since 2007.

Ms. Bracey Deegan’s career has spanned over 25 years in international business development, human resources and finance, including senior positions at JPMorgan, McKinsey, Textron, and Overseas Private Investment Corporation, both domestically and internationally. Bracey Deegan has also been an entrepreneur, co-founding a women-owned strategy and organizational consulting firm that worked with private equity firms in the first 100 days post-acquisition. An honors graduate of Princeton University in International Politics, Bracey Deegan earned her Law degree and a Masters in Foreign Service from Georgetown, specializing in international private transactions. She joined Plan USA’s Board in 1999. With this interim role, Bracey Deegan has resigned from the Board.

Oren Whyche-Shaw, Chairwoman of Plan USA’s Board, will chair the search committee, which will identify and evaluate prospective candidates for the leadership position. “We would like to thank Ahuma for the contribution he has made leading a major transformation of Plan USA over the past couple of years,” said Ms. Whyche-Shaw. “His commitment to the organization and its mission has never wavered and the organization has benefited from his work.”
