Letter from the editor
Looking at the calendar in front of me, I can’t help feeling slightly surprised that this year is almost over. This December, in particular, happens to finish up an extraordinarily eventful year: one of change, of promises, of uncertainty and — for so many around the world — of hope.
Recently, Plan USA experienced change close to home with the announcement that Audrey Bracey Deegan has been named Interim President/CEO of Plan USA by our Board of Directors. Ms. Deegan joins Plan USA following the resignation of W. Ahuma Adodoadji, who had been our President/CEO since 2007.
“I have been very fortunate to spend the past couple of years at Plan USA,” said Mr. Adodoadji. “I have especially enjoyed working with a group of people whose collective efforts have helped strengthen Plan USA and its mission to improve the lives of children, families, and communities around the world.”
As we thank Mr. Adodoadji for his leadership and commitment to the organization, we look forward to a new year in 2010 and are hopeful that with your support we can continue to focus on ensuring the health, education, and well-being of girls and boys in need throughout Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Today is World AIDS Day
Every year on World AIDS Day (December 1st), YUGA holds a campaign to raise awareness and money for the millions of people worldwide who are battling the HIV and AIDS pandemic. Help us recognize World AIDS Day!
