How do I set up a School Link?

Step 1: Contact us
Call Kate Ezzes at (401) 737-5770 ext. 1301 or email Kate.Ezzes@planusa.org

Step 2: Meet Us
Set up a visit to your school to discuss the program, the requirements and your ideas on what topics or themes you’d like to build your school to school program around. If a visit is not possible we can talk by phone.

Step 3: Create the project together
Kate will contact a partner school overseas to share information about your ideas and to get their input and ideas as well. She will draw up a short description of the program for all the partners to agree on.

If you're ready to get moving, apply online or download, fill out and mail in our School Linking Application {.pdf, 15K}.

Step 4: Link Up!
Once agreed upon by everyone, both schools will receive a final description of the school linking project, including the project goals, contact information and a timeline and then ....

Step 5: Start your project!
Projects and letters can be exchanged 4-6 times per year.

What do I need to do a school-to-school link?

  • Group of Engaged Youth
  • Creativity, Energy and Excitement to learn about and connect with youth throughout the world!
Additional Requirements
  • We encourage students to participate in raising awareness for the entire class and school. In the past students have held assemblies, organized library displays about their linking country and invited speakers from their local community.
  • To take further action ... You can participate in a YUGA (Youth United for Global Action and Awareness) campaign and join students throughout the US to raise awareness about Child Exploitation, HIV/AIDS and Global Poverty and other global issues.
