Letter from the editor

Every year, Plan supporters from all across the country come up with creative and fun ways to help children and communities around the world. Our fundraisers help us make life better for millions of children, and play a vital role in letting everyone know about the great work that we do.

If you are looking for a way to make a difference in the lives of children, consider becoming a Plan International USA fundraiser. We have dozens of fundraising ideas to help get you started – at least one idea for every letter of the alphabet!

For example, you might want to have your friends and family sponsor you in a run using a fundraising page like FirstGiving or Facebook Causes. Or you could get your kids involved and host a bake sale, dance-a-thon, or ice cream social at their school.

You might even want to consider donating your credit card rewards points, or auctioning off your unwanted items using eBay’s Giving Works program - both simple ways to support Plan that won’t cost you a penny!

To get started, visit our website for more information on fundraising for Plan. Before you know it, you could be helping to fund a school for girls in Niger or a health clinic in El Salvador!

Stories from the field

Vigilance committees work to end human trafficking Vigilance committees work to end human trafficking
10,000-15,000 people are trafficked from Nepal to India each year; most are women and children for sexual exploitation. Legal deterrents have done little to reduce human trafficking across the Indo-Nepal border, so vigilance committees – set up by Plan – have put their energies into prevention.
