A BRIGHT day for girls in Burkina Faso

August 1, 2007
The Bright Project in Burkina Faso, funded by a $12 million dollar grant from the Millennium Challenge Corporation, is an exciting initiative. The goals are simple and clear: to encourage regular school attendance of children, particularly girls.

We hope you enjoy the sideshow below which depicts the celebratory atmosphere resulting from the project. Several young girls attending school for the first time are already emerging as leaders among their peers. These photos show Plan USA CEO, Ahuma Adodoadji as he visits the Bright communities.
