Global Poverty Campaign

Join YUGA in our fifth annual Global Poverty Campaign! We are raising awareness about the fact that millions of people around the world still lack the resources and opportunities to meet all their needs. Get active with YUGA!!

Our World Leaders have promised to meet the Millennium Development Goals and end extreme poverty by 2015. Let’s make sure they keep their promises!

There are four ways you can join the YUGA campaign and you can do as many activities as you like! It’s up to you: dedicate an hour, a week or a month to it, or focus all your efforts on October 17th — Global Day to Eradicate Poverty.

How can you get involved?

1. Educate
   • Know the facts
   • Run an interactive activity in your class or club to help your peers understand its root causes!
2. Advocate
   • Support the Global Food Security Act and let your Senators know what issues are important to you.
3. Raise public awareness
   • Stand Up and Speak out!
   • Banner Campaign
   • Wear White!
   • Poster the walls!
   • Take action locally
   • Host one, or many of the campaign event ideas, create your own, or combine the ones that catch your interest!
4. Fundraise
   • Hold a fundraiser at your school to help support our Global Poverty Campaign!
   • Remember you can act locally too, have a canned food donation as admission to events for a local shelter or food bank

5. Join the YUGA Cause!
