Join YUGA in our fourth annual Global Poverty Campaign! We are raising awareness about the fact that millions of people around the world still lack the resources and opportunities to meet all their needs.
This year we want YOU to get active with YUGA!!
Our World Leaders have promised to meet the Millennium Development Goals and end extreme poverty by 2015. Let’s Stand Up and Speak Out to make sure they keep their promises!
There are four ways you can join the YUGA campaign and you can do as many activities as you like! It’s up to you: dedicate an hour, a week or a month to it, or focus all your efforts on October 17th — Global Day to Eradicate Poverty.

How can you get involved?
- Educate
- Run an interactive activity in your class or club to help your peers understand the root causes of poverty!
- Advocate
- Support the Education for All Act and let your Senators know what issues are important to you. You can make copies of our letter and get your friends to sign it, or create your own letter using our talking points.
- Raise Public Awareness
- Stand Up and Speak out! Millions of people around the world on October 17th will Stand Up and Speak Out against poverty and inequality. Last year over 23 million people stood up and we made it into the Guinness Book of World Records. Get your friends and classmates to Stand Up and help beat that record!
- Wear White and show your support! Deck yourself out in white; decorate your school, trees, your bike or anything! Just make sure your decorations are biodegradable or that you clean up afterwards!
- Join the Banner Campaign to Make Poverty History. Create a huge banner with your classmates and display it in your school!
- Fundraise
- Hold a fundraiser at your school for Plan’s education programs in Bolivia!
- Join the YUGA Cause!
- Join the YUGA Global Poverty Campaign Cause on Facebook to show your support and stay connected to us throughout the year!
