Plan's Transitional Learning Spaces
We are pleased to announce our inclusion in UNICEF’s Compendium on Transitional Learning Spaces.
In order to improve the quality of learning spaces for children after a disaster, UNICEF investigated case studies of 13 projects from 10 different countries and several organizations. Plan’s transitional school designs used in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake were included in UNICEF’s research. Each learning space, which was built after a different emergency, is documented with pictures, drawings, and a questionnaire.
Plan’s designs are located starting on page 158 of the compendium.
Valuable lessons were learned from this research, and Plan is proud to have contributed in improving the quality and safety of learning spaces for all children.
