Healing Through Play: Plan's Child-Friendly Spaces

December 4, 2013

Children are particularly vulnerable in a disaster—both physically and emotionally. In Leyte province, many have lost their homes, loved ones, and have witnessed terrible scenes of devestation that no child should see.

Child-friendly spaces - supported by Plan staff and volunteers - provide children with a safe place to learn, play, and receive the emotional support that will enable them to heal.

Plan’s staff also provides parents and guardians with advice on supporting their child’s emotional recovery and keeping them safe.

Life-Saving Aid

Plan emergency teams are distributing life-saving aid - including water, shelter, and hygiene kits - to thousands of families affected by Typhoon Haiyan, which has now affected over 13 million people in the Philippines.

Please help us deliver aid to the families and children who need it the most. Donate to the Typhoon Haiyan Relief Fund.
