PHOTOS: 36 Years Strengthening Women's Leadership
The Center for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA) – now a part of Plan International USA – has been hosting Global Women in Management (GWIM) workshops since Jimmy Carter was in the White House – and with thousands of alumni worldwide, there are no signs of slowing down.
GWIM began in 1978 as CEDPA’s workshop to train women in developing countries to advance international development and change the social and political context that impedes opportunity for women and girls. This June will mark the 60th workshop.
Alumni have changed their organizations and communities and many have risen to top leadership positions in their nations.
