A day at YUGA Leadership Camp
How will you be spending your time at the YUGA Leadership Camp?
YUGA Leadership Camp Curriculum
The curriculum at YUGA Leadership Camp is comprised of youth-led interactive workshops to build knowledge about global issues and build personal skills in order to outreach to peers.Workshops will be a combination of presentations, games, simulations, trials to build knowledge about globalization, the root causes of poverty, the spread and impact of HIV/AIDS, the impact of climate change on the developing world, and the complex workings of trafficking children for labor and war.
The skill building workshops will focus on how to start a YUGA chapter upon your return home, public speaking and facilitating, fundraising, leadership roles and team building.
We encourage all youth to bring their skills and knowledge and plan and present a workshop at YUGA Leadership Camp. We will work with the selected youth to come up with an agenda that encompasses the issues and skills the youth are most interested in learning.
Camp Life
YUGA Leadership Camp will be a packed week of workshops and outdoor summer fun. The campers will participate in workshops in the morning and part of the afternoon — but it can’t be all work and no play, so the rest of camp time will be filled with swimming, boating, hiking, games, competitions, dances, camp fires, ice cream socials and more.
