Join Plan’s youth network, YUGA, in our first ever Climate Change Campaign! We are raising awareness about the fact that our daily life is affecting the environment negatively. Together we can stop climate change through simple efforts made every day!
We want YOU to get involved with YUGA in our first year advocating for an end to climate change!
World leaders have made the promise of achieving the Millennium Development Goal of ensuring environmental sustainability by 2015. Let's make this happen!
There are four ways you can join the YUGA campaign — and you can do as many activities as you like! It’s up to you: dedicate an hour, a week or a month to it, or focus all of your efforts on March 17 (Go Green on St. Patrick’s Day!) or April 22nd, Earth Day.
How you can get involved
- Educate
- Educate yourself and your peers about the issues surrounding climate change and sustainable development
- Advocate
- Contact your local Senators and urge them to support the Climate Security Act of 2008. You can make copies of our letter and get your friends to sign it, or create your own letter using our talking points.
- Raise Public Awareness
- Enter the Shoot Nations "Young People in a Changing Climate" global youth photography competition
- Make posters highlighting 10 actions items that people can take to reduce carbon emissions and stop global warming.
- Hold a recycling contest at your school.
- Plan an Earth Day Event.
- Fundraise
- Hold a fundraiser at your school to support Plan’s Disaster Relief & Recovery Fund.
- Join the YUGA cause!
