Target donates $50,000 to help children in China
In the last six years, Target has donated over US$ 132,936 to Plan China.
In addition to presenting the donation, Target staff also gave gifts to the children at the Kindergarten and Jingyao Middle School.

On November 27, 2008 seven representatives of the American company Target visited Donglu Kindergarten in China for a Project Donation Ceremony during which they presented a $50,000 donation to be used for school improvements.
This is the sixth donation by Target to Plan China since 2003. The donation will be used to improve children’s learning environments and teachers’ working conditions in poverty-stricken areas. In the last six years, Target has donated a total of $132,936 to Plan China.
The donation ceremony included speeches by Target’s Human Resources and Administrative Director, Madam Zhou Yan, Plan China Grants Manager, Zhang Aiying, the deputy minister of the county's Education Bureau, the principal of Donglu kindergarten and the headmaster of Jingyao township middle school.
Following a performance by the children, representatives of Target visited Jingyao township middle school. Several of Target's representatives played a short basketball match with children.
The donation will be used in Donglu Kindergarten, Jingyao Middle School in Pucheng County and Yanghe Kindergarten in Xixiang County for teachers’ capacity building and kindergarten’s development.
