Letter from the editor
I have come to accept that a great number of Plan USA’s child sponsors and donors have more motivation and drive in their eyelashes than I probably possess in my entire body. And while I won’t deny that I’m just a wee bit jealous, I’m mostly in awe of the drive these people have to “do right” for the children of the world.
Take Adina Ruskin, a high school Spanish teacher in NY, who decided to expand the horizons of her students by introducing them to her sponsored child and to the work of Plan. For their final project, the students created handmade cards for the little girl — 60 cards in all! Can you imagine the joy of that little girl when she receives her package? We've posted a gallery of some of the cards on our website.
Then there is Aaron Zukoski: he’s bicycling from Panama City, Panama to San Francisco, CA to raise funds to help Plan build two classrooms for an elementary school in the Guatemalan village where he sponsors a child. I’ve been following his blog and if you want to talk about motivation, this guy has plenty! Read about Aaron's amazing experience, see some great photos, and send him some words of encouragement at thelasthillbeforehome.blogspot.com.

You know that old chicken or the egg question?
Blanca and her children are among 289 families in El Salvador that might be better able to answer that question thanks to a poultry-raising project supported by Plan USA donors.
