Plan USA event in NYC brings together Meredith Vieira, hostess of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire,' and Anil Kapoor, the actor who plays the game show host in the award-winning film "Slumdog Millionaire."
Thursday evening, April 30, Plan USA hosted almost 200 guests at a special event in New York City, featuring a conversation between Anil Kapoor, award-winning 'Slumdog Millionaire' actor and Meredith Vieira, co-host of NBC’s Today show and host of ABC’s 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire.'
The night at the Asia Society celebrated Plan's work empowering vulnerable children in India, and also raised public awareness about Plan’s community development programs in over 49 countries worldwide.
Meredith asked Anil why he chose to support Plan over other organizations. Anil, who had donated his entire acting fee from 'Slumdog Millionaire' to Plan India, said, "I feel comfortable with Plan. I know they are people who really care about children."
Ahuma Adodoadji, CEO of Plan USA, said that "Plan is grateful to be working with such a true champion of children like Anil Kapoor."
Executive Director of Plan India, Bhagyashri Dengle, presented three programs in India that are truly making a difference: Dreams on Wheels, School on Wheels, and the Campaign against Child Trafficking. Donate to one of these projects today.
