African Women's Leadership Workshop Application

How to Apply

Applicant Requirements:

Applicants who wish to attend the workshop must meet the following criteria:

  • Be employed by a local civil society organization or government ministry in one of the following countries: Ghana, Liberia, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, or South Africa
  • Have a minimum of five years of experience working in a development sector (health, education, protection, etc.)
  • Demonstrate current engagement in programs that serve women, children, or youth
  • Be proficient in the English language and demonstrate the ability to participate in active discussions and presentations with other participants and organizations

Alumnae of prior CEDPA or Plan International USA women’s leadership workshops are not eligible to apply.

Application Process:

  1. Complete the African Women’s Leadership Workshop Application, below.
  2. Submit the African Women's Leadership Workshop Sponsorship Form. This form is required even if you do not have a sponsor.
  3. If you have a sponsor, submit an official letter on company letterhead to The letter must indicate the type and amount of costs that are being covered. This letter must be signed by the applicant’s sponsor in order to verify their sponsorship.

The application deadline for all forms is Friday, February 23, 2018. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Once accepted, attendees will be notified by email, and a letter of invitation that can be used to apply for a U.S. visa will also be provided.

Applicants who have not been accepted will be notified by email at a later date.
