Plan International USA, as the co-lead of the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, will lead a learning and developing initiative to ensure practitioners of child protect in humanitarian action are equipped to adapt programming in the context of COVID-19. This will be done through two key areas:
- Develop essential learning and development resources on the protection of children during COVID-19; and
- Increase opportunities to exchange and share innovative program practices for child protection practitioners at global, regional, and national levels.
The project aims to use virtual methods to share resources and build capacity, such as Massive Open Online Courses, while also ensuring that in-person trainings are available were they are feasible or where internet connections are not guaranteed.
This award will build on Plan’s success implementing the Community-level Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, which developed capacity building packages for practitioners and a field guide of approaches to child protection in humanitarian action.
