Join IGC in Getting 300 Children to School in Togo
The children in Togo, a small West African country, face daunting challenges, among them poverty, exploitation and a culture that devalues education for girls. But you can give 300 children a chance at a brighter future! By joining IGC and Plan International USA, you will bring education to 300 children in Abidjandè, a village in central Togo, and help to change attitudes about the value of educating girls.
Construction of the school building is under way, but more is needed to complete construction, build latrines, dig a well, and hire and train teachers. Please join IGC in building a school for the children of Abidjandè and helping their community work towards a better future. Your gift of:
- $10 can help purchase teaching materials for the school.
- $25 can purchase a soccer ball for their soccer program at the school.
- $50 can help provide clean water to the school.
- $95 can help build a girls-only bathroom, so they can stay in school.
With this project Plan aims to provide easier access to education, especially for girls. The idea for the ‘Girl Friendly Schools’ project came about following research carried out by Plan Togo. This research revealed a strong connection between children leaving school early, early marriage and child trafficking. Thank you for your generosity in helping children receive the education they deserve.
