The Domestic Violence Act of 2010: Is It Helping Survivors?

The aim of this study is to investigate how the Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Act of 2010 (referred to here as DVPP Act) is being implemented and explores its successes and shortfalls. The study identifies how (and if) the Act prevents violence within the home and protects the victims of domestic violence. The study also draws conclusions and makes recommendations for how Bangladesh can improve the application of the law. Potential revisions of the Act are also identitified.
