Stephanie, 13, is a Plan International sponsored child from Haiti. We gave her a camera to show us a day in her life.
More than half the population of Haiti lives in extreme poverty. At least one in four children suffer from stunted growth due to malnutrition. Access to water and sanitation is also a critical issue for many people living in rural villages. These needs are becoming more urgent in the wake of Hurricane Matthew, which devastated the country on October 4.
At Stephanie's school, Plan International has installed water tanks for washing and drinking and child-friendly toilets with separate cubicles for boys and girls.
Stephanie wants to become a nurse when she is older so she can care for people - young, old and poor. She would like to help her community move forward.
