BECOME A   SPONSOR

One Letter's Amazing Journey

Meet Vai, a Plan International sponsored child from Southeast Asia whose life is changed by an inspiring connection with her sponsor in New York. Today, more than 1.5 million children are sponsored through Plan, but many more are waiting for heroes like you. When you become a sponsor, your tax-deductible contributions are pooled to support community-led, self-sustaining projects that address urgent needs in your sponsored-child’s country. This maximizes your impact, allowing you to develop a meaningful boned with a brave, determined child, while improving the lives of many.

See how one bond with a sponsored child changes lives. Watch the video.

You are moments away from changing lives:

My Name is Agripa

I am a 16 year old boy

Agripa and family live in a community in the eastern region of Zambia. Small-scale farming is the main economic activity. During the planting season families leave their homes and move to the fields. Children's education is interrupted at this time. Many resume school once the crops are harvested, but this often leads to poor academic performance. Most houses in the area are made of wood, mud and thatched grass. Pit latrines are used as waste facilities. Waterborne diseases are common, especially during the rainy season. These families are deeply motivated to improve their situation and your assistance will help them achieve their goals.

My Name is Marcelina

I am a 16 year old girl

Marcelina and family live in a mountain community. The terrain is rugged. Poor roads and heavy rains during the rainy season make getting to and from school difficult for children. Families are large, often with 10 to 12 children. Most people work as farmers and grow food for their own consumption. Sometimes families can grow enough food to sell at the marketplace. Very few homes have electricity. Kerosene lamps are used to light homes at night. Safe drinking water is inaccessible. Primary schools are overcrowded, lack furniture, books, and sanitary waste facilities. High schools are located in outlying areas. Health clinics are not equipped to meet the needs of patients. The families are working hard to improve their lives. Your help is greatly appreciated.
