Plan Announces Partnership with Nickelodeon International to Extend "Extraordinary Me" Series

NEW YORK/WARWICK, RI – Plan International, the children’s rights and equality for girls organization, is announcing a partnership with Nickelodeon International’s Together For Good to extend Nickelodeon International’s award-winning multiplatform interstitial series “Extraordinary Me,” which spotlights everyday kids around the world doing extraordinary things. The gender equity pro-social campaign kicks off today across Nickelodeon platforms in 144 countries and territories outside of the U.S. and celebrates and empowers girls who are defying stereotypes and excelling in male-dominated disciplines. The campaign consists of profile spots which will run through June 30, 2021 and features Mahiro, a karate champion from Japan; Milana, a weightlifter from Russia; Sahara, a junior golfing champion from Australia; and Karla, a rugby player and girls’ rights activist from Colombia. Extended versions of the pieces will also be available on me.nickelodeon.tv.

Debuting in 2020, Nickelodeon International’s “Extraordinary Me” campaign is a live-action interstitial series highlighting kids who are inspired by what they love doing and what they do extraordinarily successfully. Whether it’s playing an instrument, excelling at a sport, helping the environment, or inventing the next big thing, this series focuses on everyday kids doing extraordinary things. Airing across Nickelodeon’s international platforms, the campaign has featured 14 kids from all over the world, each with their unique story told in their own voice and language. Through the campaign, Nickelodeon is providing a platform to extremely gifted children who wish to inspire their young viewers and lead them to build something beautiful with their passions. “Extraordinary Me” was the recipient of the 2021 Cynopsis Best of the Best Award for Best Diversity Awareness campaign.

Established in 2015, Together For Good is Nickelodeon International’s platform to inspire and empower its kid audiences to get involved in their communities and make positive changes in the world around them. Plan International was Together For Good’s inaugural launch partner and collaborated again in 2017 on a “Together We Rock” gender equity campaign.
