Plan International has operated in Myanmar since 2008, notably after Cyclone Nargis ravaged the country’s southern coast in May of that year, killing 140,000 people. In an ongoing collaborative effort with local partners, Plan Myanmar engages in post-Nargis activities such as emergency relief, disaster risk management, education, and school reconstruction.
Office locations and unit operations:
Plan Myanmar’s country office is located in Yangon, with program unit offices in Mandalay and additional operations in Ayeyarwady, Sagaing, Kachin, and Rakhine.
Plan Myanmar’s technical areas include nutritional health, water sanitation and hygiene, disaster risk management, and child protection.
