Meet Patricia, a sponsored child in Bolivia. We gave her a camera to show us a typical day in her life.
Life is hard for many children in Bolivia. Access to education can be very limited, especially if you’re a child in a rural or indigenous community—or if you’re simply a girl. Many children never get the chance to fulfill their own dreams, because they need to help support their families from a young age. And sadly, many still die from preventable diseases. Each year there are 11,000 Bolivian children who don’t live to see their fifth birthday.
But Patricia is on a different path. She’s still in school while many other girls have dropped out. She’s been given the chance to learn about her rights as a girl, to gain confidence, and to plan a future on her own terms. Patricia is one of more than 36,000 Plan-sponsored children in Bolivia. Sponsorship brings essentials to children and communities like clean water, education, health services, and economic security. And our sponsors are compassionate people just like you.
There are so many more children in Bolivia waiting for this chance. Become a sponsor and help change a child’s life.
