Ana Altamiranda (she/her)

Ana (she/her) is a dedicated advocate for youth empowerment, social justice and gender equity. Originally from Argentina, she is currently a freshman at Stanford University, where she is focused on the intersection of science, technology and the social sciences. As a youth activist, Ana loves to collaborate with like-minded individuals to create initiatives that enhance the well-being of young people. Throughout high school, she was deeply engaged in her community, organizing and leading educational programs and volunteering across various social causes. She mentored the creation of over 45 social projects in areas like education, women in STEM, inclusion, climate action and gender equality through a leadership and empowerment program she founded for girls in Argentina.  

Ana also served as the Argentina country coordinator for Tremendas, a global platform for young women leading change in their communities. Ana’s dedication has been recognized by both local and international organizations. She is proud to have been recognized as an Ashoka Cono Sur Young Changemaker and the Young Standard Bearer of Argentina Solidarity Award. She is also part of UNICEF’s Generation Unlimited Global Young People’s Action Team as well as their advisory board in Argentina.  

At Stanford, Ana is involved with the Haas Center for Public Service as a student liaison and works with the Chicano and Latino Community Center. Additionally, she is part of the organizing team for the Stanford Science Olympiad, aiming to ignite interest in science among young people, particularly young girls. Ana joined Plan International USA’s Youth Advisory Board in October 2024, and she is deeply committed to advancing Plan’s mission of empowering young female leaders. In her free time, Ana enjoys baking, listening to Taylor Swift and reading fantasy and romance books.
