Ava (she/her) is an undergraduate at Columbia University studying applied math and economics. Throughout high school, she co-led the Young Feminists Alliance, a chapter of the National Organization for Women that aims to advance gender equality and amplify women’s voices. She also works with a local coalition to promote mental health awareness and support substance abuse prevention programming. In particular, Ava strives to address the root issues impacting women’s mental health. At university, Ava is involved in Columbia’s UNICEF chapter and also volunteers at local high schools to provide tutoring to students.

Ava joined Plan USA’s Youth Advisory Board in 2021 after attending Plan’s 2021 Youth Leadership Academy. She is most interested in empowering women in STEM fields and working to advance sexual and reproductive health rights. On International Day of the Girl in 2021, she represented Plan at a Takeover of Credit Suisse in New York City.

In her free time, Ava enjoys running and reading science fiction novels.
