Dave Cannata

Dave Cannata is the chief financial officer at Plan International USA, an international humanitarian and development organization that partners with adolescent girls and children around the world to overcome oppression and gender inequality, providing the support and resources that are unique to their needs and the needs of their communities, ensuring they achieve their full potential with dignity, opportunity and safety.

Dave joined Plan in 1994 as director of accounting and was promoted to chief financial officer in 1996. He oversees finance, audits, insurance and risk, information technology and facilities.

Before joining Plan, Dave was an auditor with Price Waterhouse for six years, where he worked on the audits of various financial institutions, manufacturing companies, service companies and non-profit organizations.

Dave has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Bryant University. He is a certified public accountant in the state of Rhode Island and is a member of the Rhode Island Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He and his wife Beth, a college professor, have two sons, who are both pursuing postgraduate degrees. Over the years, Dave has volunteered in both local athletics and AAU baseball programs as a coach and in other capacities. He is an avid Boston sports fan who also enjoys collecting sports memorabilia.
