Nora (she/her) is a high school junior from Southern California and a passionate advocate for refugee rights and climate activism. She has actively raised awareness about a humanitarian crisis in her native country, focusing on refugee support and integration. Nora has spoken at panels, including collaborating with the mayor of Monterey, California, for the 2nd Generation Burmese American Empowering the Burmese Community Panel, where she provided recommendations to help Burmese adolescents adapt to new environments while maintaining cultural identity.
She is also deeply committed to addressing climate change, having received an award from the Global Environmental Education Partnership for her innovative environmental solutions. Nora joined Plan’s Youth Leadership Academy in 2023 and later became involved with Plan’s Global Young Influencers Group where she contributed to global campaigns promoting peace and social justice. She played a role in the Unite for Peace campaign, advocating for international collaboration to address crises and promote equality. Nora also helped co-create resources for youth activism, supporting initiatives that engage young leaders in activism across 30 countries.
In the future, she hopes to work at the intersection of environment and policy to create solutions that benefit both people and the planet. In her free time, Nora enjoys water sports like surfing and water polo, and is a major film fanatic, always on the lookout for the next great movie to watch!
