Plan’s GirlEngage approach to our programs is designed to let the girls themselves take the lead! With a GirlEngage Training Session, adolescent girls in Senegal will work with us to design an innovative program that ensures girls are able to learn and thrive in post-primary educational opportunities — free from the pressures to marry early.
Your gift to Plan will be used where it is needed most, to help create sustainable change and address the root causes of poverty and inequality. Donations support programs, innovation and infrastructure required to deliver our programs to girls and children worldwide, in areas such as protection, education, health, sanitation, disaster relief and economic empowerment.
Your gift supports Plan International’s response to the earthquakes that hit Syria and Türkiye. Plan is working together with local partners, helping children and their families in Syria access safe shelter and lifesaving aid, including food, water, health care, menstrual health kits, blankets and beds.
Your gift supports Plan International’s response to the crisis in Ukraine, which is focused first on refugee children and their families in Poland, Moldova and Romania, as well as responding inside of Ukraine with local partners. We are working in the areas of protection, psychosocial support, emergency education and meeting the basic needs of children and families who fled their homes with little more than the clothes on their backs.
Many families in Syria are beginning to leave the refugee shelters they’ve lived in since the earthquakes in February 2023 and are now returning home. But amid this ongoing crisis, parents are out of work, cannot afford heat and are worried about keeping their children safe as temperatures drop. Your gift makes it possible for a family to heat their home, with enough fuel to last throughout the whole winter season!
Drought has left families in Zimbabwe unable to grow or access nutritious food. And they’re struggling with economic shocks and stresses. But with your gift, you’ll provide girls and families with the knowledge and awareness of climate-induced risks, as well as the steps to take to protect their livestock businesses. That way, they can stay financially stable and continue to pay girls’ school fees!
Gifts of Hope are actual items needed by the communities in which we work. Your donation will be matched to a project that includes the item that you selected. If the need for a particular item is filled or Plan’s fundraising goal for the project has been met, we will apply your donation to a similar project or where needed most. Project costs vary widely from country to country, continent to continent, for the same materials and services. The costs listed usually reflect an average cost. Donations to Plan International USA are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
